Owning an RCS Store Card opens up an immense personal shopping network that is almost endless when it comes to options. From groceries and clothing to DIY products and the latest technology, there are RCS partners in every corner of South Africa, and the best part is, that network just keeps growing.
RCS customers often have questions regarding new partner stores that they can access, and in this article, we will look at some of the new shopping opportunities that could be available to you.
Let’s start with two of South Africa’s favourite shopping brands, Game and Makro. Massmart is rolling out a very interesting concept which they will be testing, and it will allow customers to shop at both stores in one single location. How will they achieve this? According to MyBroadband, Massmart will build small-format Makro stores within four Game store locations.
Group corporate affairs head Brian Leroni told MyBroadband, “They will be situated in the Game store site but the stores will be merchandised and branded as a small concept 3,000-square-meter Makro store.”
Unfortunately, it has not yet been announced where the new stores will be located.
Moving to another well-loved brand, Builders announced late last year that they would be opening two brand new Builders Express stores, and it seems that it is just the start of even more expansion for the brand.
The two new stores can be found in Polokwane and the Western Cape. The site in Polokwane is situated near the Mall of the North, while in the Western Cape, you will find the new store situated in Vergelegen.
In a press release on the Massmart site, Jonathan Molapo, Massmart CEO said, “Following a thorough white space analysis, we identified a number of attractive locations for new Builders stores that we intend to open before the end of 2025. To date, this year, we have opened three new Builders stores, with another to follow before the end of the year.”
Looking to Pick ‘n Pay, the large retailer is certainly amongst the favourite grocery chains in South Africa, and they are now also making waves in the clothing sector. In August of 2023, they reopened their flagship Pick ‘n Pay Clothing store in Sandton which had been revamped to reflect the rich history of Johannesburg.
Sticking with clothing, the long-standing brand Edgars is facing renewed growth with Reliability as recent reports indicate that there are 30 new stores planned per year for the next two years. The Reliability Group acquired Edgars back in 2020, and has certainly made positive strides forward considering the situation that the clothing brand was in at that time.
