Winter has arrived! Here are some of the top trends off the runway to incorporate into your wardrobe so that you are stylishly sorted for the season! With over 23 000 stores in the RCS shopping network, it’s easy to update your look with a simple swipe of your RCS Card.

Metallics are big this season and not just for the night time or special-occasion parties. You can now incorporate metallics into your everyday wear. The trick is in how you style it. For winter, a great metallic bomber jacket or metallic skirt can be incorporated into your winter wardrobe. My tip for you to pull off this trend is to keep everything else simple. Let that metallic item be the centre of focus. For example, with a metallic skirt, you can wear opaque tights with boots and a well-fitted jersey, preferably in block colours that complement the metallic skirt.

Body suits are in right now and they are perfect for winter. They are great for keeping you warm and for layering over. Sometimes winter clothes can look bulky and unshapely, but if you style a great warm body suit with jeans, a warm jacket, beanie and boots for a casual look, or with a skirt, blazer and heels for work, you can look stylish and feel warm.

The off-the-shoulder trend, believe it or not, can be worn in winter too – it all depends on the fabric. A knit jersey is great to pull off the bare-shoulder trend while keeping warm. Something else you can do to pull off this trend is to layer. You can wear a white long-sleeve shirt with a bare or asymmetric shoulder top or dress on top of it for a different style.

Pleats are in and easy to pull off. Whether it’s a pleated skirt or dress, pleats add a soft, feminine feel to your look. My style tip for pleats is to show off the waistband on the skirt or pants to accentuate your shape.

When choosing your jacket for this winter season, go for a military or biker jacket. Both took over the international runways and are perfect to layer on to almost any look. Deep rich colours are usually the best, so opt for a rich dark navy if you don’t feel like black or even a khaki military or biker jacket.

The velvet trend allows you to pull off a luxurious look on a budget. My main tip for velvet is to make sure you have the right fit, and to carefully consider what you pair this fabric with. While velvet on velvet does look great, don’t be shy to pair it with other textures such as knits, denim and satin.
